Hitting the streets
So Halloween in Malaysia- well, does not really exist. So we went to Singapore where we had been told was the place to be. Every year in the neighborhood around the Singapore American School- the action happens. They were not kidding!
I was thinking we would walk into streets filled with expats....well we did.....but beautifully enough it was as diverse a crowd as you will find ANYWHERE. European, American, Australian, Asian, Indian, on and on. Truly magical on one level and seriously over crowded on another! Please notice Michelle's glass of wine in hand...I had mine too and was very thankful.
Singapore Halloween
more
Hannah, Nevi, Kate and I made ghosts for the tables and to hang around. And we also had these amazing centerpieces made from squash. They are called pumpkins here, but are cooking squash. No big orange pumpkins to b found in Malaysia (although they are sold in Singapore:)
This is our dear friend, Nadia. She works in the restaurants here. Nevi calls her and two other women(Ada and Anne) in the restaurant her "aunties". They take very good care of us all.
Trick or Treat
We arranged for the kids to go around to our friends and different parts of the resort to trick or treat. Then we all gathered by the pool for dinner and drinks and fun! Here are some of the wonderful folks who participated!
Pam and David: Pam works for Xerox with Devin. We are so lucky to have them here with us for more reasons than can possibly be named!
Halloween at Pulai Springs
We live at a golf resort- yup it is true. There were lots of reasons that we landed here and in many ways I am glad. We are also the only American here with children. Not many families live here long term with children- but alas...there are a few. Our new and dear friends.
Hannah is 9. She is from Australia. Kate and Mike are her Mum and Dad. Mike is the General Manager here at the resort.
