LOVE CHILD
I feel so blessed to be a mother. I feel honored to watch this child grow. The other day, Genevieve came to me because she wanted to share something she had written in her diary a while back. I will not share her exact words- even though they were beyond amazing...cause they are her words and her words in private...but basically what she was saying is that she deeply cares about the people of the world. She was using words to show her empathy...her understanding of loneliness...the blessings given through friendship and that people out there often hurt and need the help of another. I have been moved over the past few days....first that she wanted to share her feelings and thoughts with me...and second, that at the beautiful age of almost 7- she possesses empathy and wisdom. So my dearest daughter, love child of us...you inspire me endlessly. I love you. Mama
USA National Day Celebration
I brought a few decorations back to Malaysia from the USA when we were home in April. This is the Multi Purpose Hall at Fairview. Last Monday's morning assembly was dedicated to celebrating and educating about the Fourth of July in the US....our National Day as it is termed here and around the world.
All the children sat in rows of each class...the middle one here is Level Two- Genevieve's class.
Here are some of the teachers and the little ones. Mr. Suresh, one of Nevi's fabulous teacher's put together a PowerPoint with a bit of history and a ton of pictures of the US. We stood for the Malaysian and the US national Anthems....it was just as I had organized with the teachers.....a simple celebration filled with education! Perfect morning assembly!

Singapore Rite of Passage
passing by the fancy shops....
Wisma Atria is the name of the shopping complex where she got her ears DONE!
Walkin with Papa...almost there:)
here we go...
That is the groovy new sterile box the studs come in and it pierces the ear too.
Done and they twist them....wow.
Lovely Ladies
Wow- this place called BDazzled was a great place to get ears pierced. These two ladies were calm, peaceful, confident, trained, professional. We were in there less than 15 minutes I bet. Let Nevi pick her studs (she chose her father's birthstone: Amethyst...how sweet is that???) had her in the chair, cleaned her ears, sprayed them with this numbing spray, each had a box with a stud in it, each took one ear...at the same time...counted and snap...done! Nev looked a bit shocked for about 3 seconds total....she did hold back a few tears (I could tell)none fell....and within seconds she was saying...that's it!?!? Yup... all done! Wow! Ears pierced!
