Living room & Kitchen

Our apartment at Pulai Springs

Here are some pictures of our Malaysian home. The guest room, Nevi's room, our room, guest bath, and the back of building.

View off our balcony

This is what we look at from our living room, Nevi's bedroom and our bedroom. Malaysia is lush, tropical, humid, sweet smelling and it rains usually at least once a day.

PAPA and Crowne Plaza, Singapore

Devin and Nevi re-united after three weeks...everyone jet lagged as we arrived at 1am and our beautiful hotel room right at the Changi airport!

Tokyo

Here is Nevi after the 10 hour and 40 minute flight from Portland, Oregon to Tokyo, Japan. We only had a 7 and a half hour flight left from Tokyo to Siungapore~

Beauty

Trying to upload pictures but having a hard time...stay tuned for visuals.

For now here is an experience from yesterday. Nevi and I were walking down the hall at our resort...we live at a resort it is true. We were on our way to have lunch at one of the resturants here. Down the way was a woman and her daughter walking toward us. I looked up as we passed each other. This woman was Muslim which is no shock around here...as Malaysia is a Muslim country....diverse, but prodominately Muslim. She had a beautiful silk robe on covering every inch of her body skin. She had a scarf wrapped elegantly around her hair and ears...as I looked up to say hi...she met me with her most glorious eyes. She had her face completely covered. Only her eyes were wide, round, open and so beautiful. I could see no other skin...just the skin around her eyes. Took my breath away really. We said hello and walked past. Here I was in cropped pants and a short sleeved tee....not so elegant...not so feminine...not so covered.
Our time here will open us to so many experiences...and this was just one second of time. I was moved, startled and awed. Nevi had lots of questions...especailly when she saw the husband in the resturant in a long white robe:)

Let the games begin

On the 9th of July 2009 our daughter, G and I left Portland International Airport heading to Tokyo and onto Singapore to meet our beloved husband/papa. D met us at the airport on 11 July at 1 am. Phew- a journey which included a 10.5 hour flight and a 7.5 hour flight. Our 5.5 year old daughter was a super star beyond words...a few movies, lots of games, lots of chatting , some eating and a few hours of precious sleep.
We spent the night in Singapore and then made our way across the border into Malaysia. We were on our way to our new home...so crazy...so tired...and together.
We had been preparing endlessly for about 6 months...now we were here.
