Today we had the most lovely lunch...a whole group of us who are mother's at the children's school! So much fun- I wish we had been doing this every month since I have been here. Why do we finally get ourselves together right when I am leaving???? I do hope these women continue to gather!
Thank you Lisa for organizing us all! Kate- I missed you today.
Natasha & Celeste matching outfits today! Beautiful girls!
Our family will be living in Johor Bahru, Malaysia for at least a year ...keep track of us as we journal our adventures and daily experiences.

Beautiful Yen
This is our beautiful friend, Yen with Genevieve tonight. Yen's family owns one of our favorite local restaurants around the corner from where we live. She has been a part of our lives since our very first days in Malaysia. She has helped us learn Bahasa Malay. She has nurtured us with beautiful food. Celebrated with us. And always offered the purest kind of friendship. her family as well. How we will miss her!
And this is our take away from Yen's restaurant tonight. Nevi and my favorite: Kway Teow Pattaya(tasty wide noodles wrapped in egg) and Nasi Thai (Thai style rice). Brilliant! Delicious! The essence of Tungku Impian!

Laavanyah's Cash & Carry
This is our dear friend, Balu. He is the tailor at a very favorite place of mine: Laavanyah. Our neighborhood Indian Cash & Carry shop. His family lives in India, but he lives here cause the work is here. I have had countless beautiful experiences here. Balu has sewn many Punjabi, shirts, and even a Saree for me. His skill is amazing. His smile is warming. I will never forget him...as I wear his beautiful creations.
This is the rest of the family at Laavanyah's....well there really are more family who were not working today as we said our farewells. But here are some of our friends. They would always greet us with the warmest of smiles, sweets for Genevieve, laughter and chuckles. When we said our goodbye's this afternoon- a few glimmers of tears filled eyes and very warm heartfelt sense of friendship glowed all around.
As we left the shop, Nevi turned to me and said, " I will really miss coming here." Starting to say our farewells really brings it around- we are heading home. And many of these people will remain forever in our memory.

sights
This restaurant claimed to have more beers than anywhere in Malaysia...but we did not verify!
Perfect outdoor kitchen for a local restaurant.
