Kari Forrest

This was our next campsite. This time we were not at the beach~ we were in the beautiful woods. There are trees here called Kari trees ~ they are huge and magnificent! This was a little camp ground- so well maintained. The stars were more bright than we had ever seen that night.
And here is the Kookaburra. When we first arrived, Devin and Nevi went for a stroll to the river while I started on dinner. I kept hearing the most unusual sounds. At first I thought it was a cat screeching. Then all of a sudden I heard it right out the camper window. I looked out and on a branch were two birds- gosh they looked like a mix of owl and hawk. They were talking to each other. Then they flew over the camper and landed on a branch even closer to me. I did not want to open the door and scare them...so I sat down on the camper floor and just watched. Awe. Had no idea what they were. The next morning we were eating breakfast and who came to land on a branch over our heads.....Kookaburra! Just sat there and watched us and then flew away.
