Rider's Lodge

We went on a day trip the other day to a place called the Rider's Lodge. Our hotel manager, Kumar used to work here. He said it was a place where Nevi could have a pony ride. So we hoped in the car and drove about 45 minutes from JB. It was really cool as we began to move away from the rows of shoplots along the road and move into more rural spaces. We drove through the endless palm groves and then turned in...down the long long driveway...and then wow....this building, the stables and lots of space! Believe it or not this building was built about 10-12 years ago. Nice job making it look Colonial, huh?
It is owned by an interesting couple. The husband  grew up in Chicago and then lived in Australia for 20 years and now has been in Malaysia for 20 years and his wife , Agnus, a fabulously chatty chinese woman. There daughter is in the US going to college in CA and training in dressage~ I believe as an Olympic hopeful. Before they bought this place, they knew very little about keeping horses. They did ride, but that was it. Now they have 34 beautiful horses and an inn with 27 rooms!
