Here is a toll booth on the main highway. One thing this part of the world has down is the use of cards to pay for things...you keep the same card and just "top up". I know we have this in the US...but here you use cards for tolls, cell phones, immigration crossings, paying for parking, subway and buses in Singapore, getting into hotel rooms, getting into condo buildings...you name it. Pretty quick and easy too. Just don't try and go through if your card has no balance on it...remember to TOP UP!
